Ripping your Heart Out

The Blaze: To overcome fears that patients would be allowed to die for the sake of their organs, officials said that doctors and paramedics trying to resuscitate a patient would not be told whether the preservation unit was waiting in the wings until a supervisor had given the order to stop rescue efforts. The organ team, which will travel in a bright red and white ambulance marked “Organ Preservation Unit,” is supposed to remain out of sight.

Note the word “Supposed to” stay out of sight, right.. woulda, coulda, shoulda.

I think after the first couple emergencies a pattern would develop which would allow a rescue team to know if they have the organ van around the corner.

How creapy is that? Why not have the hearse attached to the ambulance? Or, instead of a gurney – have a coffin.

And, how can you be convinced that the EMR is doing his best, when the organ wagon pulls up behind him?

Exactly Katie.. soon it will become too obvious as the rescue workers sit around the body eating a sandwich waiting for the patient to become a donor.
