Rasmussen Reports:

Most voters (55%) believe that the unrest in the Arab world is making Israel less safe. Seventy-one percent (71%) believe that any peace agreement must have the Palestinian leaders acknowledge Israel’s right to exist.Earlier polling showed that few voters expect that to happen which may be one reason why very few Americans believe lasting peace is possible in the Middle East.

On the immigration front, 64% still believe that improving border security is more important  that addressing the status of illegal immigrants already in the country.

Obama’s Bid Threatened By ‘Unnamed Republican’

The bump in President Obama’s approval polls, after Navy Seals killed Osama bin Laden, didn’t last long. It was shot down by a $4 gallon of gas, a 9-percent unemployment rate and an economy that has slowed to barely 2-percent growth.

After two years of steadily rising gas costs, when the president was tirelessly promoting alternative biofuels and the like. The White House, with its eyes firmly fixed on the polls, a declining GDP growth rate and rising unemployment, is now calling for more drilling.

In order to drill, more money is needed. So where has the last 2 years of money that was squeezed out of the American taxpayers go? Basically to expand government jobs, but not to help our economy or (real) unemployment. Obama has been more focused on pushing Obamacare, or bitch-slapping oil companies. So now that he needs to drill for oil (to help his 2012 campaign) he also needs more money. The Republicans are saying cut spending, and we can move forward, Obama like an infant being fed peas is making a face and saying no. So he looks to other options..

Surprise, More Taxes..

The price at the pump has increased 28% in just the last four months, 116% since Barack Obama took office.

Punish the energy industry with $85.5 billion in new taxes – a penalty that will further discourage domestic production and sure to be passed on to consumers driving prices even higher

The President says that oil and gas should pay their “fair share.”  I did a little checking and found that the industry pays an average 41.1% of net income in taxes compared to 26.5% for all other S&P industrials.

The bottom line.. his campaign, it all revolves around his campaign.  He babbles on about these off shore drilling locations, that end up restricted by EPA rules and regulations, that getting oil from a piece of bread would be far easier and more productive. He has made oil companies the villan, and there are people who buy it. I know people who have repeated the battle cry of “stick it to the oil companies”, and I ask them.. do you know who actually pays? If the oil company has to pay more, guess what happens when you go to the pump? So think about it, why have the gas prices gone up so dramatically since Obama slithered his way into the White House? He has had a vendetta against oil, why?

I have said before Obama promotes himself to the ignorant masses, and why? because it works, these people buy whatever he sells, they believe it whole-heartedly, they are oblivious to the obvious. Of course what is buried? The zero tax paid by GE, Obama’s green-energy-baby. They have played his game, so they get a treat. They also outsource their jobs in droves, yet still happy with his pet, he threw them another bone:

Obama even rewarded Jeff Immelt, the CEO of General Electric, by choosing him to lead his Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

International issues: once again Obama spits in the face of allies in favor of hugging an enemy…

in claiming that the US mustn’t distinguish between its allies and its foes, Obama made clear that he has renounced the US’s right to have and pursue national interests. If you can’t favor your allies against your enemies then you cannot defend your national interests. And if you cannot defend your national interests then you renounce your right to have them.

More on International issues, as we “welcome back ‘carter” John Ransom reflects on the common thread between Carter & Carter 2 (aka Obama). He adds a note appreciating a commenter, which I need to highlight as well:

  • Real inflation: 10.7%
  • Unemployment: 9%……………………U-6: 17%
  • Misery Index: 19.7%
  • Additions to foodstamps: 14 million
  • 34.6% of the jobs Obama “created” in April were at McDonalds.
  • M3 went from 2.7 trillion at the beginning of 2009 to 10.6 trillion in March 2010 and, while it has decreased some, it is still at a historic level.

Carter: Lost Iran. Obama: Lost Egypt.

Carter gave money, weapons, intelligence, and military assistance to the Mujaheddin in Afghanistan, which later became the Taliban and Al Qaeda. (See: The 3 July 1979 directive that Carter signed for the provision of secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul).

Obama is giving money, weapons, intelligence, and military assistance (in contravention of 18 U.S.C. § 2339A – providing material support to terrorists) to Al-Jama’a al-Islamiyyah al-Muqatilah bi-Libya, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Al Qaeda – all 3 are on his own State Department’s list of terrorist organisations.

Like Carter, Obama is outrageously naive. The Arab Spring is not about democracy.

More John Ransom’s reflections on Carter’s shock (due to his naivety).

The cost of Obamacare on Small Business:

  • one local business owner told me that he was forced to lay off 25 employees after analyzing the costs his business would face with the new ObamaCare regulations.
  • the law significantly grows the size of government with the creation of more than 160 boards, bureaus, and commissions

The birth certificate, media and Obama’s propoganda games. It still is a head scratcher, why, after Obama’s pre-white house campaign & the past 2+ years, that Obama dodge the birth certificate question that was brought up over and over.. did he finally cry “uncle” for Trump. It seems odd that Trump caused all this hype, Obama quickly whips out his birth cert, and the Trump says eh never mind to running? It really is still too bizarre. Question still linger, permeating the air with a nauseating stench.. and that stench is still Obama.

It’s been three weeks since Obama first made his long-form birth certificate public on April 27, 2011. Why, suddenly, did he do this, and not in 2008, 2009 or 2010 when this first of the missing bona fides became a focal point of deep national consternation? Why did Obama send lawyers to courtroom after courtroom to keep this simple document hidden — and now mass-produce it on Obama 2012 campaign t-shirts?

Unions have been a major topic this year. Why? Because they have their hands in everything, and just want more. It is interesting how the focus has been on healthcare and the attacks of greed by doctors & insurance companies, yet at the same time, money is poured over Unions. Think about it, what is a better synonym for greed than Unions and Politicians. Many think of Unions as helping the workers, but they aren’t, they are political machines.

Here are some highlights from Wikipedia on Unions:

Activity by labor unions in the United States today centers on collective bargaining over wages, benefits, and working conditions for their membership and on representing their members if management attempts to violate contract provisions.

Unions formed a backbone element of the New Deal Coalition and of Modern liberalism in the United States

Let’s highlight what the New Deal Coalition was:

The New Deal Coalition was the alignment of interest groups and voting blocs that supported the New Deal and voted for Democratic presidential candidates from 1932 until the late 1960s. It made the Democratic Party the majority party during that period, losing only to Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956. Franklin D. Roosevelt forged a coalition that included the Democratic party, big city machines, labor unions, minorities (racial, ethnic and religious), liberal farm groups, white Southerners, people on relief, and intellectuals.[1] The coalition fell apart in 1968, but it remains the model that party activists seek to replicate

They say the New Deal Coalition fell apart, but it seems under Obama is must be alive and well.

Again.. Unions are a Political Tool. Think also about what workers are in unions, teachers & auto workers are two big ones. Now think about their product.

Look at “American” motor companies (specifically the bail-out-babies, Chrysler & GM) look at their reliability history. Chrysler & GM have been notorious for offering a poor product but also being heavy with the unions. Think about non-union auto makers, they have happy workers and reliable products.

Then take a look at the education system, where children graduate high school unable to spell or do basic math. Now look at the fact that the unions make sure these teachers keep their jobs, why? Think about these same teachers, if they did any other job as poorly as they teach they would be fired.

More problem with unions…

Katie Pavlich (visit link for video) Shares: The unions in New Jersey never seem to quit and they just don’t get it. Public workers and the legislature in the Garden State want Governor Chris Christie to sign a bill that would not only bump sick leave liabilities from $800 million to $3.25 billion (which the state doesn’t have), but would pay government workers cash for unused sick days, or in other words, for not getting sick.

See more from Kyle Olson:Union Apologist: ‘Moral Obligation’ Not To Terminate Teachers’ Livelihood

Mr Olson highlights one union-supporting-nutjob (National Education Association’s 2010 “Friend of Education” – is Diane Ravitch), who thinks there is a moral obligation to maintain a person’s livelihood. Ms Ravitch fails to identify the point of being a teacher, and the harm that their failure or inability to teach results in. Is there no “moral obligation” to the children?

I grew up going to school during back-to-back teacher strikes. I recall many years where we would see our teacher the first day and last day of school and very little if ever in between. We had substitutes for the vast majority of our elementary school years.

The result, I did not learn multiplication in school, I taught myself during the summer between fifth and sixth grades. I did not learn cursive in school, I had an old dictionary that I loved, and I would repeat the letting at the beginning of each section. I ended up learning calligraphy before I learned cursive. We also had a lack of supplies, we ended up sharing one book per every three students, we never could take books home to study. There were no handouts, we were limited in about every facet, I think if we could have stepped back a century we would have more available, in not only supplies but definitely education. Through out my years in school, very few, if any, teachers cared. They seemed like they were performing no different of a task than handing out cigarettes in a convenience store. Thinking back to books we did have in school, we had history and science books so riddled with inaccuracies and so terribly outdated, it was hard to separate fact from what we had in front of us.

It was these experiences that I reflect on, and allow me to say with full familiarity that the education system is tragically flawed, and the unions have a huge influence on that failure.

If it weren’t for unions, capable teachers could he hired, proper tools could be supplied to students, and the results would be something we could all be proud of.

It amazes me, how so many incredible advancements, so much technology .. and so those same incredible strengths our country could hold with pride and honor, in just a century would deteriorate faster than then were created.

We now turn to China for money, we can’t afford our own failing products so we turn to Korea, we can’t afford our own people so we permit illegal aliens. Our country has become a house of cards brought to you by the unions, and politics.

Do you ever see statements on facebook that it takes all the power you have NOT to comment on? Here is one that I just pulled back from:

Do people think its fun or necessary to talk about politics on facebook because if it isn’t fun or necessary, could you all cut it out. it’s a real downer

Now see if you can guess the age of the person who wrote it? If you guessed in or around 20, Bingo, you win!

The reason I said I held back from response was this person is related, so I refrain from commenting politically to (most) relatives, especially the young ones who simply just have not developed a clue yet.

What did I want to say? Mainly the ignorance is not bliss response, that ignorance of events does not prevent them from happening. Simply burrowing your head in the sand does not make all well.

Add that, if you don’t like the comment, just like a radio station you may not like, ignore it.(Check this out for the reason why I am mentioning a radio station, note the guy who believes in freedom of speech but has no clue what the 1st Amendment is.. ahh higher education, are you proud too?)  Another option, if it is posted on your wall, delete it. If the person always posts political stuff & you don’t want to see that, either “hide” them from you feed, or remove the all together. This way you can remain in a guarded, oblivious, protected little world. Ahh ignorance.

No (as far as I know) it was not in reference to anything I posted, said or did. I try to keep it pretty low profile on there, due to the number of liberals I know & am related to (though I will pop one or two things up there, if they are broad enough in interpretation, just to see if I get feedback.. and nope, no bites.. ever).

Another thing about this young person saying ” it’s a downer” that I find kind of funny. This is one of those people who posts idiotic things, but also never wants comment to them (when you do this person gets fussy). For me the point of Facebook is it is a social network, where you are looking for interaction, not to broadcast belching and never look for a response. So why are so many people, and often it is these young-dumb ones, who want to have a million “friends” but never any response.  (I think there is even an option where you can not allow comments to your posts or photos, these kids should opt for that option). They also simply do not want to know anything that is actually happening in the world around them (ok I guess a social network would be a potential hiding place from reality, for many).

Alas I just find the ignorance is bliss concept absolutely ridiculous, pathetic, and pointless. The point of human existence is to think, to challenge, to grow, to learn, to develop, to make noise. If a person is bummed by the waves of life, they live a listless existence, one that is utter pointless. A plant at least has purpose, though I guess for the listless individual at least they are expelling carbon dioxide and benefiting the plants, right?

Doing the Waive…

Posted: May 20, 2011 in Uncategorized

It takes on a whole new meaning, ok it is a different word.. but there sure has been a lot of “waiving” going on with Obamacare. Shouldn’t the waive requests be proof positive that this is not something that America wants, or that will work for our country? I have said it before & I will say it again, if YOU want universal or nationalized healthcare, there are other countries to go to, please go there.. it is already set up, no waiting required, no need to get past its growing pains, they are already established.

Michelle Malkin has a great article..  Gangway! Gangway! Save me! Waive me!

waiver-mania started with McDonald’s and Jack in the Box; spread to Dish Networks, hair salon chain Regis Corp and resort giant Universal Orlando; took hold among every major Big Labor organization from the AFL-CIO to the CWA to the SEIU; roped in the nationalized health care promoters at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (whose board of trustees includes health care czar Nancy Ann DeParle); and is now gripping entire states (Maine, New Hampshire and Nevada all recently got in on the act).

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s congressional district, a cluster of San Francisco small businesses is among the latest recipients of get-out-of-Obamacare passes

Seattle-based REI. The trendy Pacific Northwest outdoor equipment retailer’s progressive CEO and Democratic campaign donor, Sally Jewell, appeared with President Obama in 2009 to tout White House health care reform initiatives

To date, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has granted federal health care law exemptions to more than three million American workers covered by more than 1,300 unions, companies and insurers who had voluntarily offered low-cost health plans with annual benefits limits.

In the tone of an infomercial.. “but folks, that’s not all”.. AARP has jumped on the waiver-wagon.

AARP to Receive Obamacare Waiver AARP was a prominent and vocal supporter of the unpopular overhaul, stubbornly insisting that seniors would benefit from the law’s provisions, despite strenuous objections from its members.

Naturally the White House denies favoritism, but look again at who is getting waivers.. those who supported Obamacare, or are Obama’s pets (like the unions).

Here is a flash back to AARP, saying they are not supporting Obamacare, while they ignore their members. They then take their mic and leave. The meeting continued civilly with out the AARP reps.

John Ransom explains how to get your waiver. But apparently you need to be a company that donates politically.

Mr Ransom also discovered the consulting firm helping to get the waivers supports Republicans & the Tea Party. So that makes me wonder, are they working for or against Obamacare. And if they are working against, is this their method for killing the bill?

Walter E Williams offers an interesting explanation of “re-distribution of wealth”, of the things the liberals have been pushing yet deny has any form of socialist agenda behind it.

First what is Socialism, per Merriam Webster:

Definition of SOCIALISM

1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

Mr Williams offers an example of a pile of money, that we all share from, as being what would make sense for distribution of wealth. But we live in a society where we earn by doing, and exchange for services or products from others, who then earn by doing. He then shares how it is the government that is not offering a service, and should give back:

If anyone is obliged to give something back, they are the thieves and recipients of legalized theft, namely people who’ve used Congress, including America’s corporate welfare queens, to live at the expense of others. When a nation vilifies the productive and makes mascots of the unproductive, it doesn’t bode well for its future.

Matt Barber offers some hope for the future, as he examines rebellious nature. We have seen over the years, there will be a liberal generation followed by a conservative generation. Often the offspring of each other.

Many liberals still think they are rebelling. What are they rebelling against, when they have won about everything they could ask for? When they have an extremely liberal government bending to their will?  I love how Mr Barber explains it..

They honestly believe they remain the nonconformists. It’s precious.

In fact, today’s liberals are nothing of the sort. They compliantly conform – like little windup, patchouli-daubed lemmings – to a carnival-prize caricature of what they imagine nonconformity to look like. You know, the usual stuff: neo-Marxism, environmentalist activism, sexual relativism, big-government nanny statism, an actions-without-consequences rendering of reproductive rights, and other such populist nonsense. Simply put, today’s progressive nonconformist conforms

The kids today, most are Boomer offspring, how does a child of a boomer rebel?

Kids: Really want to get under your obnoxiously “tolerant,” Volvo-driving, MSNBC-watching folks’ skin? Try this: Go to church, abstain from premarital sex, join the Young America’s Foundation, attend a Tea Party rally, enroll at Liberty University, listen to Rush Limbaugh and vote Republican.

But don’t be embarrassed by previous liberal viewpoints. It is human to at one point have a liberal perspective, but then to grow up, mature, and have some sense. I am a reformed liberal.. I too once wished for “world peace” and other unrealistic notions. There is nothing wrong with having such wishes, it is when you truly believe in fairy-tales that you need to snap back to reality.

Winston Churchill once observed, “If you’re not a liberal at 20, you have no heart; if you’re not a conservative at 40, you have no brain.” Liberalism is emotion-based and rooted in soaring, knee-jerk notions of “social justice.” Conservatism is logic-based and rooted in reality.

Obama’s Daddy Issues?

Posted: May 20, 2011 in Uncategorized

A MUST read by Larry Elder (read in full, there is no part I can cite from it, it needs to be enjoyed in its entirety). He talks about the hypocrisy of Obama, and rappers. I still find it interesting how so many can look away and ignore the company Obama keeps. Between religious leaders, who are hardcore, anti-white, extremist activists.. and the other activist extremists he looks up to.

The choice of an extremist, white-hating, pro-cop-killing rapper for a “poetry” event is also disturbing. (As was some story I saw where Obama’s mutant wife was showing kids how to dance to some rap song).

What is also interesting is how over the past couple years anyone who has opposed Obama has been immediately labeled a racist, yet his circle of friends would gladly look up Hitler’s methods in order to eliminate white people if given the opportunity.

So who again is racist? Good grief the majority who oppose Obama is not for his skin color,  but because he is a horrible president, the direction he is taking this country, and his shredding of the Constitution. We don’t like him because he is inept. I also don’t like him for the poor choices he makes, personally and in respect to his position. I do not like the fact that he seems he needs to embrace being black, for some political reason, but certainly not for who he really is.. remember he was raised by his white half, he was abandoned by his black half. So the ONLY reason he would be embracing so many black things in his life, is compensating and daddy issues (note the black people he has embraced are typically older black men).
