Do you ever wonder about the thought process of the hard-core anti-gun folk? I spotted an old article from Michelle Malkin that talks about a columnist in Virginia who definitely has more support for criminals vs people who follow the law, who want to defend themselves, who take responsibility for their own lives. Seems like a no-brainer that someone would prefer to NOT support the criminal right? Well that explains a lot about the liberal perspective, they definitely are somehow meandering about with a brain in their skull!
2007 Flashback from Townhall: the Roanoke (Va.) Times published an online database of registered concealed handgun permit holders in the paper’s community under the sanctimonious guise of “Sunshine Week.” The database included both the names and street addresses of some 135,000 Virginians with permits to carry concealed weapons.
Columnist Christian Trejbal patted himself on the back for making it easy to snoop on the neighbors: “I can hear the shocked indignation of gun-toters already: It’s nobody’s business but mine if I want to pack heat. Au contraire. Because the government handles the permitting, it is everyone’s business.”
…he exposed his true agenda when he compared law-abiding gun owners to … sex offenders: “A state that eagerly puts sex offender data online complete with an interactive map could easily do the same with gun permits, but it does not.”
That is perspective for you. That writer compared (law-abiding) gun owners with sex-offenders. That does not even require time to register in your mind as disturbing, does it? This underlines my feelings about support for criminals over support for honest people.
The same writer also has an article about bibles & jail. He finds it bothersome that when inmates arrive they are ONLY offered a Quran or Bible. He feels they need more selection. Where would that selection end? It would be so cruel if they only have thousands of books to choose from. The support & defense for criminals never fails to disturb me!
And as Michelle Malkin points out.. the witch-hunt continues…
While the Roanoke Times has retreated, the witch hunt against gun owners continues. In New York City, Mayor Michael Bloomberg launched a “sting” operation targeting gun shops in five states for allegedly selling guns illegally. Alan Gottlieb and Dave Workman of the Second Amendment Foundation report that Bloomberg sent unauthorized private investigators to conduct the operation — without notifying the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF):
“The odor ripened when Bloomberg filed civil lawsuits against these gun shops, rather than turn over evidence to the proper authorities for criminal prosecution. Bloomberg’s office refused to turn over that evidence, and instead the billionaire mayor launched a high-profile media campaign demonizing the targeted gun shop operators.”

What ludicrous comparisons. Beyond that, what does the columnist hope to accomplish by publishing the list of concealed permit holders? I would assume that the list contains the names of all the law enforcement officers in the area. Everyone with a permit has legitimate reasons to carry or they wouldn’t have received the permit. So what does he want the readers to do? Does he expect them to go to the addresses and protest? Should the citizens rise up and call out their gun toting neighbors? Perhaps he wanted the criminals to know which houses not to rob because they might be shot. Maybe next time he can do some real investigative reporting and list names and addresses of those that illegally own weapons.
Bob exactly… and when I looked at other articles by that moron, he definitely supports the criminal element vs honest law abiding people.
I love that you included the idea of protesting, since that is what most looneys will do, they will invade the privacy of people and parade on their property … but humm would they risk becoming target practice? (grin).
